Share your district's success stories!

NACD's 72nd Annual Meeting in Nashville is only two months away! Take advantage of this opportunity to network with conservation leadership from across the nation by participating in the 2018 District Share Fair.

The District Share Fair provides you and your district with an audience of conservation-minded meeting-goers, giving you the chance to discuss your district's accomplishments, programs, and projects. Presentations will occur in the Conservation Expo Hall in Ryman B1 on Monday, January 29. In the past, districts have presented about their board elections, educational programs, urban conservation practices, and grant strategies, but feel free to get creative.

Participation is free, but space is limited! Please fill out the District Share Fair application and submit it to NACD's Stewardship and Education Coordinator Diana Blackwood by next Friday, December 8.

Forestry Notes Q&A with George Geissler, NASF President and Oklahoma State Forester

The latest edition of NACD’s Forestry Notes includes a question and answer session with George Geissler, a forester with three decades of experience and the newly named president of the National Association of State Foresters.

In his interview with NACD’s Mike Beacom, Geissler said that partners like conservation districts supplement the technical forestry expertise of state agencies with their own unique skill sets and relationships with landowners.

“Together we need to find new ways to reach landowners, get forest management on the ground, and educate the public,” he added. Click here to read the full interview on NACD’s blog.

This month’s Did You Know? delves into the past and current work of the NACD Presidents Association (PA). The PA brings together former and current presidents of state/territory associations so that they may continue to contribute to the improvement of district, state, and national conservation programs.
